We couldn’t end the month without recapping the stunning Floral Fashion show entitled Fleurotica, a show held annually at the Garfield Park Conservatory to benefit the Urban Roots Environmental Justice Team program and the conservatory’s education programs and community engagement activities.
The show featured 14 talented Chicago floral designers who beautified local models one flower at a time. Designers included Brittney Kee Floral Design – Brittney Kee, Dominique Struck, Earth’s Remedies Mercedes Pickett, Hailey Rodden, Honey Street Flowers – Lisa Marie Brown, Luz Cardenas, Odalys Ramierz from SRVD Chicago, Scottie by Design – Scottie Eskelund, Somos Hechos En México – Paola Saraí Ramos Ayala, Terrace – Charlie Murray, Vince Phan, and Vitruvian Fine Art Studio – Melinda Whitmore.
We captured the runway, and here are a few of the stunning pieces that were on display. From sundried oranges, beaded skirts, to cornshell dresses, two-piece floral pink bikinis, plant infused halter tops, wedding replica dresses, and a host of haute coute styled dresses; the runway was nothing short of floral perfection on display. We captured a few designs for your review.
While the show was a delight to see, we encourage you to connect, visit the local Garfield Conservatory located on the west side of Chicago.
