     Born and raised in Ghana but currently based in Chicago, Jennifer Akese graduated with a Bachelor’s in Fashion Design and Technology from Takoradi Polytechnic in Ghana. Jennifer started Akese Stylelines in 2005, following her love for sewing and fashion. Jennifer’s passion for designing and producing unique pieces is reflected in her focus on fit, color, and print. Her collections blend African designs with Western fabrics to create unique pieces that play with traditional silhouettes and whimsical details. Whether it’s a sultry look that accentuates a woman’s shoulders or a nod to a 1950s A-line silhouette, each piece is designed with a specific aesthetic in mind.

     Whether you’re stepping out for a power lunch or clocking in some work hours, Akese Stylelines offers versatile looks that are sure to make a statement. But don’t just take it from us! Akese Stylelines has been featured in public shopping markets across the world,  one of which being Chicago’s very own Navy Pier as a part of their Black History Month exhibition, “Black Makers Market”. In 2019 Akese Stylelines was the spotlight designer at Essence’s My City 4 Ways event and campaign. In 2020, Jennifer was featured in Fobes and Forbes China, as well as O Magazine, Huffington Post, and several Chicago-based publications. A genius at her craft, Jennifer has grown her brand into a global force you just absolutely need to get your hands on and get yourself into! Jennifer was featured in our Black Fashion Week runway shows in 2015, 2016, and 2019.
