On Saturday, October 4th, My Obioma turned heads at the Relentless Power runway with its bold Azu Collection — a high-color lineup featuring cargo pants, silk kaftans, trench coats, hoodies, joggers, and dresses.
Inspired by fish scales, the Azu fabric glimmered under the lights, symbolizing both fluidity and strength. The name Azu, meaning “fish” in Igbo, ties back to the collection’s cultural roots and layered textures that even evoke the look of armor.
Highlights included multi-pattern cargo pants in vivid green, black, yellow, blue, and red tones, along with a striking red-and-white silk kaftan that stole the show.
Founded by Emeka Anyadiegwu, a Howard University alumnus, My Obioma blends African and Western styles — designed in the U.S., made in Nigeria, and worn worldwide. True to its name, meaning “Igbo tailor,” the brand honors the legacy of craftsmanship while pushing African fashion forward.
