Inside Fleurotica 2025 at the Garfield Park Conservatory
As mid-fall settles over Chicago and the chill begins to bite, many of us find ourselves longing for the warmth of May’s flowers and June’s sunshine. While we can’t rewind the seasons, we can revisit the magic. This month, we’re taking you back to one of Chicago’s most stunning runway moments: Fleurotica 2025, the city’s annual floral fashion showcase.
Hosted at the iconic Garfield Park Conservatory, Fleurotica is more than a fashion show—it’s a celebration of creativity, sustainability, and community impact. Each year, proceeds support the Urban Roots Environmental Justice Teen Program, along with the Conservatory’s educational initiatives and community engagement efforts.
Chicago’s Top Floral Designers Transform the Runway
This year’s event featured 14 visionary Chicago floral designers, each bringing their artistry to life by transforming local models into living sculptures—one petal, stem, and bloom at a time. Designers included A.Hunt Design– Andrea Hunt, A’vents by August– Alicia August Wright, Brittney Kee Floral Design – Brittney Kee, Dominique Struck, Earth’s Remedies Mercedes Pickett, Hailey Rodden, Honey Street Flowers – Lisa Marie Brown, Luz Cardenas, Odalys Ramierz from SRVD Chicago, Scottie by Design – Scottie Eskelund, Somos Hechos En México – Paola Saraí Ramos Ayala, Terrace – Charlie Murray, Vince Phan, and Vitruvian Fine Art Studio – Melinda Whitmore.
Floral Couture Takes Center Stage
The runway was nothing short of mesmerizing. Designs ranged from, Sun-dried orange–beaded skirts, cornshell dresses, two-piece floral pink bikinis, plant infused halter tops, wedding replica dresses, and a host of haute couture styled dresses, the runway was nothing short of floral perfection on display.
