The Ivory Collection
The Ivory Collection is a brand created by Tanya Ivory Mayes. Tanya attended the University of North Texas where she studied fine arts majoring in fashion design and marketing. She is also an award winning designer, having received the 1996 Honorable Mention, Ready To-Wear Fines Art Fashion Award given by the Textile & Costume Institute of The Museum of Fine Arts in Houston her brand has also been featured in major fashion publications such as WWD. Tanya has also worked on television and film projects including the ABC movie, “King of The World, Muhammad Ali: The story behind his early years”, “The Pirate Island of Jean Lafitte” directed by Grant Mitchell and “Fifth Ward” directed by Greg Carter.
The Ivory Collection brand incorporates beautiful fabrics in flattering colors with the most appealing cut for design. It exudes elegance and a calm understated luxury. Tanya recently presented her designs during Newyork Fashion Week 2016 , Black Fashion Week USA Houston and Chicago Runway 2016, the 2015 Houston Black Heritage Festival which had over 7,000 attendees. Her designs were also shown in the Houston African Fashion Week 2015. She gives God the credit for her artistic talent including the ability to sketch, paint, sew, design, style, write and the ability to be active in her community.
